Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Jennifer L. Deakins attended the University of Miami in Florida for undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies in 2005, focusing on public health. She received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating Magna Cum Laude and completing internships focused on glaucoma, retinal disease, and Lasik co-management. She most recently finished her year-long residency training in Ocular Disease at a low-income teaching clinic in Dallas. She specializes in caring for disease conditions of the eye including macular degeneration, glaucoma and dry eye syndrome.
Dr. Deakins was awarded clinical letters of excellence in Family Practice and Pediatric specialty clinics, and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honors society throughout optometry school. She is an active member of the local optometric societies, as well as the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. She is currently working toward her Fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry.
An avid sports fan, Dr. Deakins especially loves supporting her favorite college football teams, and she enjoys cooking and baking in her free time. She is excited to become a part of the Eagle Mountain Family Eye Care team and the Eagle Mountain community.

Dr. Kendra L. DeBerry is originally from Abilene, Texas. She completed her undergraduate studies there at McMurry University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. DeBerry earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA. She earned clinical honors in professional practice while attending school and completed rotations specializing in disease management and Low Vision. Upon concluding her final rotation at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, she joined Eagle Mountain Family Eye Care in 2009. Dr. DeBerry enjoys Pediatric Optometry and is certified in the treatment and management of all ocular disease including Glaucoma, Dry Eye Syndrome and Macular degeneration.
Dr. DeBerry stays informed on the latest technology and treatment options as a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometry Association. Residing in Fort Worth, she is very close to her family and loves spending time with Terry and their daughter Brynli Lynn, born in June 2011. Other interests include, exercising, reading and following her favorite local sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks and Texas Rangers.
